Our Collaboration with Search And Rescue Skåne – Improving Safety and Visibility

At Diodhuset, we are proud to collaborate with Search And Rescue Skåne, a non-profit organization dedicated to searching for missing animals and people in Skåne. They assist pet owners, the police, emergency services, and other rescue efforts, making a real difference in their community.

Despite being a relatively new organization, their founders have extensive experience in search and rescue operations. They take a comprehensive approach, utilizing advanced methods such as drones with thermal imaging, search dogs, and coordinated search teams to locate missing individuals. All members undergo internal training and pass a qualification test to ensure a high standard of operations.

A Partnership for Safer Rescue Missions

We connected with Kristian from Search And Rescue Skåne, who shared more about their work and their need for proper lighting during their operations. Since they often find themselves in hazardous traffic conditions, especially when conducting searches along roads, we saw a natural link between their mission and our expertise in visibility and safety.
At Diodhuset, we love dogs (they brighten up our office life!), so when we learned about their important work, it felt only natural to contribute.

On-Site During a Training Exercise

Recently, we had the opportunity to join one of their training exercises—a chance to see their work up close. During the session, we observed several key moments:

Tracking with Search Dogs

The dog was given a piece of clothing from the missing person and began tracking in the forest. Once the individual was located, a simulated injury scenario took place, allowing the rescue team to practice their response.

Searching Along Roads

In the second part of the exercise, the team searched for a missing dog in rugged terrain. This gave us a chance to see our lighting in action—the powerful EPIX14+ Prime Strobe LED light bar illuminated the area, improving visibility over long distances. The bright light enhanced roadside safety and made it easier to inspect the surroundings.

To further increase visibility in traffic, they also used Warning light super slim, ensuring the team could be seen by passing vehicles.

The Commander8 Gen2 relay box, with its remote-controlled system, streamlined their lighting management by consolidating everything into one control panel.

As an additional safety measure, they used the LED Warning Puck (orange/blue) to provide clear warning signals and enhance visibility during the mission.
